A town once upon a time built on a boom in mining, Westport is forging a new reputation for itself as a destination lifestyle town.
Whilst the current West Coast Brewery has been in operation since the 1990’s, our site first operated as a brewery in the 1950s, then known as the Miners Brewery. As its name suggests, it was established to provide the local miners with beer at the end of long, hard shifts in the mines.
Westport is an understated place. A hidden paradise of natural beauty, native flora and fauna, hills, coastline and history. It’s a no fuss, easy going place to call home. True to that local vibe, West Coast Brewery creates a range of all natural, high quality beverages.
Our beer is brewed over a longer time period, allowing the flavours and body of the beer to develop fully. Our focus is on producing a flavoursome, quality beer.
In addition to our beer, we have recently added the non-alcoholic and exceptionally tasty, West Coast Ginger Beer, to our range. All natural, and with only five ingredients, it’s the stuff that Kiwi childhoods are made of. Lower in sugar, but with a great gingery hit.
For the cider lovers, we are proud to offer Kunekune Classic Apple Cider – a made for export drink with the beautiful, crisp, refreshing taste of pure Kiwi apples.
